Maui's giant banyan tree in Lahaina is over 133 years. Imported from India and planted in 1873, it was only 8 feet tall. Now over 60 feet high with 12 major trunks in addition to its huge core, it shades an area of about 2/3 of an acre. Today, this Indian Banyan is one of the largest trees in the world. These lovely hand made tiles are the sole creations of artists from the Hawaiian Islands. You can hang these on your wall using the convenient keyhole in the backing of your tile or for practical purposes use as a trivet to place hot dishes or pots on.
