One of the most famous landmarks in the world is Diamond Head located at the south-east end of Waikiki. "Laeahi" was the original name given to the crater by the ancient Hawaiians, which meant "brow of the tuna." In the 1800s the British sailors saw calcite crystals on the crater that appeared to glimmer in the sunlight, hence the name Diamond Head. These lovely hand made tiles are the sole creations of artists from the Hawaiian Islands. You can hang these on your wall using the convenient keyhole in the backing of your tile or for practical purposes use as a trivet to place hot dishes or pots on.
