** LIMITED QUANTITIES ** Dolphins are magical creatures of the sea and appear in many Hawaiian petroglyph carvings and folklore. Depicted here is the infamous image of a dolphin riding a wave, a hand carved statue locally made in Hawaii from milo wood. The milo tree is rare today, but in old Hawai’i, milo was a commonly found tree, a popular shade plant near homes along sunny coastal areas. It has been said that for the chiefs of ancient Hawai’i, the beautifully grained milo wood was used to make their utensils, furnishings and jewelry. The base is made from solid koa wood. Personalization is available. Please call for more details.
