The very well known “Tree Tunnel” on Kauai, a mile-long stretch of eucalyptus trees on Highway 520 Maluhia Road, is truly one of this island’s greatest sites. At one time the trees formed an actual enclosure but formidable hurricanes Iwa in 1982 and Iniki in 1992 have since damaged the top of the tunnel. Nonetheless, this fragrant and tranquil corridor from Koloa to the east side towards Po’ipu continues to awe its visitors. These lovely hand made tiles are the sole creations of artists from the Hawaiian Islands. You can hang these on your wall using the convenient keyhole in the masonite backing of your tile or for practical purposes use as a trivet to place hot dishes or pots on. |
