The longboard surfboards were the original surfboards ridden by the ancient Hawaiians, made out of solid wood 8’ to 24’ long! Since then, modern technology has made the board lighter using material such as polyurethane foam and fiberglass. Although longboards can be used by beginners and experts alike, longboards are more suitable for beginners because of the board’s size and frequency of catching waves. A skilled surfer in proper conditions can ride a wave, stand at the edge of his or her board and put his toes over the nose’s edge; hence, the term “hang ten.”
Surfboard with base stands at approximately 8.5" x 2" wide. Surfboard with base stands approximately 9" tall. Longboard is also detachable from base.
