Description

Hand Painted Flower Bowl Ti Leaves 6.5"

Your calabash shaped bowl has been lovingly made by hand and is adorned by the one of Hawaii's most popular and useful plants. The "ki"or "ti" pronounced "tee" plant was regarded as a healing plant by ancient Hawaiians and used as a symbol of good luck. The "ti" grows abundantly throughout the Islands and was thought to be brought to Hawaii originally by the first Hawaiian settlers. The "ti" plants traveled all the way from the South Pacific to bring the travelers good luck. The "ti" leaf is used in Hawaiian cooking, decorating, as gift wrap; the pliable leaves are made into hula skirts, capes and a myriad of other valuable items. If you receive a fresh "ti" leaf lei or any symbol of the "ti" plant consider it a blessing of good fortune. 6.5" diameter.
